The Hobbit - Start of Production

Peter Jackson is keeping all of his and Tolkien's fans up to date with the production of his two part film adaptation of The Hobbit on his own Facebook page. His updates started with announcing the beginning of production back in March. In other 'notes' he has discussed shooting the film at 48 frames per second, casting news and has given fans the chance to submit questions for him, 20 of which he will answer. He has also put up a few pictures, but what is most exciting is the ten minute video blog... which I won't spoil for you! I admit, I was a little more than excited; I had the biggest grin on my face and felt all warm and fuzzy inside while watching it! Having a behind the scenes, during-production tour from the director is more than any dedicated fan could ask for, and we (the fans) greatly appreciate it! He doesn't give too much away and will be releasing another video in the future...

Here's the link to the video (uploaded by someone else) on YouTube:
but if you thirst for more information I suggest checking out PJ's Facebook page!

I also highly recommend checking out Ian McKellen's (Gandalf) website, as he gives an interesting insight on filming, blogs regularly and often includes pictures!

Here is a link to the official 'Hobbit Blog', a site which I only just discovered myself while on McKellen's page!

Of course, if you don't want to see all the 'Behind The Scenes' stuff as you want to keep the film experience as real as possible, or you want to forget about it until it comes out because the wait is unbearable, then don't click any of those links. In fact, it may be an idea to avoid my blog entirely. Or perhaps just avoid Hobbit centred posts.

Oh, did I mention The Hobbit films will be in 3D?

"The Hobbit is being filmed in 3D. Even wizards have to wear the glasses." As tweeted by McKellen.
